Living Across Borders

Group & Individual Discussion Sessions
with Ms. Masako Hashimoto
Overview

Pathways students who are currently attending or have graduated from university are invited to join a series of monthly group and/or individual sessions for 6 months starting in April 2026. These sessions will be facilitated by Ms. Masako Hashimoto (see bio below), an experienced counselor based in New York.

In all sessions, participants will have an opportunity to share their experiences, challenges, thoughts and feelings about life in Japan. Please register here by Wednesday, April 8
These sessions are free of charge.
 

  • Group sessions will have a maximum of 10 members. The group sessions will be an hour long and held on the last Saturday of each month from 9pm Japan time. If you are selected, you will be asked to sign an agreement regarding basic rules for participation and confidentiality.

  • Individual sessions will be 20 minutes long. You will sign up for a time slot that works for you.

Schedule

Group Session Schedule (From 9 p.m. on Saturdays):

  • 1st meeting: April 25

  • 2nd meeting: May 30 

  • 3rd meeting: June (TBD)

  • 4th meeting: July 25

  • 5th meeting: August 29

  • 6th meeting: September 26

Individual Sessions - Once your participation is confirmed, you will be invited to schedule your own meetings with Ms. Hashimoto.

Ms. Masako Hashimoto

Over the past 10 years, prior to joining Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health, Masako worked at several public universities, holding multiple roles including Coordinator of Education Abroad, Career Counselor, and Alumni Career Counselor & Instructor. Prior to her higher education experience, she worked in industry in international business and marketing in IT solutions. Masako is a National Certified Counselor, Professional Coach/Career Coach, Licensed Mental Health Counselor in New York, and Certified Professional Resume Writer.
